Nana's Molasses Cookies

Boil just over half of a cup of molasses close to 3/4
Cream 1/2 cup of shortening and 3/4 cup of sugar . Once molasses is boiled pour over shortening and sugar . In a small bowl mix 1 and 1/2 cups of flour, 1 TSP of salt , 1 TSP of baking powder and 3 TSP of cinnamon ( can omit or use less personal taste )and mix together , then pour into liquid and mix together. Form into balls and roll in sugar, put on an ungreased cookie sheet , flatten with a fork ,

cook at 350 degrees just until you can smell them and then at that point they are done , about 7- 9 min .
They are perfect chewy once they are done , but do harden. If you have any left store in airtight container.
Can yield up to 34 cookies just depends in how large or small you make the balls .
