SUNCATCHER WHAT HATCHED FROM MY EGG CRAFT

You need markers( any kind but must be a marker), coffee filters, scissors to cut filters into egg shape, and your kithen sink. Of course with the messy mess it can create cover your work station and have something set up beside the sink to lay your wet filters on to dry before the final step. Of course some tape to place on the window or whole punch a hole and tie with string to hang from the curtain rod.

Let them use their imagination and colour their filter. If you need inspiration you can take their favorite animal from the book and use those colours to match their egg before they draw said favorite animal on the dried filter.
Transfer the finished egg to the sink and sprinkle some water on it. You can watch as the colours swirl together. Let your little do this part the water play and watching the colours mesh together to form a new pattern is a great sensory play tool. Of course fingers will get messy but that is the fun of it.
Lift up and transfer to the dry station beside your sink. Depending on how crazy your little went with the water , you may need to be careful when lifting to the dry station as the more waterlogged the filter it could tear. You need to leave the newly coloured filters on the drying spot for about an hour or hour and a half. I flip them over once or twice, so that they dry completely both sides. Once dry get your little to draw animals from the book on their newly crafted egg. Next hang up for the sun to catch.
