Zachary's review
A monk Seal , let's go there to see one ?
( As we read off of the e-book version , his attention span was quite non -existent but he loved the Monk Seal , mommy enjoyed the whole story ) ( No picture as no physical book. )

My Personal Review
The book is delightful . I love how it is of a true story of Honey Girl the Hawaiian monk Seal . The illustrations are amazing and you feel like you are right there.

The story is well written and done so in perfect compliment to the real story , allowing a child to understand perfectly. I wish I had known about the Monk seals when I was in Hawaii, that would have been a neat experience to learn more about personally.

Jeanne Walker Harvey has taken a true story and written the the tale in a heartfelt , yet educational manner.
The last few pages of the book offers teaching materials which are allowed to be copied as a great curriculum asset. You not only are given the story to read , a true story : but you are also given fun facts, The life cycle of Monk Seals, Conservation of these precious endangered animals , and given an educational exercise . The exercise uses what you have read in the book.

You are taken through  the story of Honey Girl as her journey unfolded step by step through the pages. I am glad to see she survived and was able to rehabilitated. A true testament to this amazing Monk Seal, a survivor and momma to seven pups.

A book well worth of the investment. An asset to your homeschool and/or home library . The book would make a great teachers present for the class as well. Perfect teaching aid besides the story.  Not to mention getting a hold of the seven award winning books written by Jeanne, would compliment your child's reading collection.
